3. New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans are building something with their young core. It was clear that was the route they wanted to take when they sent Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers for many young options including Brandon Ingram.

New Orleans landed the No. 1 pick in last year’s NBA Draft and they took Williamson to be their future. They need to surround the former Blue Devil with shooting talent and defensive versatility.

Tyrese Haliburton fits that bill to a tee. Ingram and Lonzo Ball are also part of the future on paper, but it will be interesting to see what they do. Ingram will be a restricted free agent next offseason.

A back-court of Ball and Haliburton would be intriguing. The Pelicans sit at No. 13 in the draft, so it is uncertain if Haliburton will fall that far. If he does, he would be a nice piece for the Pelicans to continue building their young core.

The selection of Haliburton would likely mean that the Pelicans would then look to trade Jrue Holiday if they haven’t already.
