Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn
In a year where the NBA Draft class doesn’t feature much for potential dynamic stars, it’s important to find players that can fill an important role. A team that wants to emphasize on the defensive end should look no further than Isaac Okoro.
There’s a lot to like about what Okoro brings to the game defensively both in on-ball situations and in team defense. He appears to be capable of effectively guarding multiple positions and can play small-ball four with his strength.
Per a league source, Okoro could end up being one of the first players off the board outside of the top-five. He has seemingly solidified himself as a top 10 selection with the Knicks at No. 8 that stands out as a potential landing spot.
There are real limitations to Okoro’s offensive skill-set that shouldn’t go overlooked. He isn’t a consistent perimeter shooter and struggles to contribute much with the basketball in his hands. He will need to be developed by an NBA development staff.
