New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday figures to be one of the top trade targets for several contenders this offseason. A Brooklyn Nets team looking to make a title run with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will be no exception.
It remains to be seen if the Pelicans, led by David Griffin and new head coach Stan Van Gundy will retain Holiday or make him available to the highest bidder.
Holiday, 30, would be an excellent fit on a team with title aspirations next season.
The Pelicans absolutely could justify holding onto Holiday — there’s a reason he’d be in such high demand on the trade market. New Orleans will face pressure to make the playoffs next season, and Holiday is the type of player teams try to keep.
