Why it makes sense for the Warriors

It is pretty clear why it makes sense for the Warriors. They would pull off a huge blockbuster deal for a 24-year-old center who is one of the best in the league.

Curry and Thompson are healthy. Basketball is back in Golden State after having the worst record in the league this season. The Warriors hold the second overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, but if they land Karl-Anthony Towns, they will gladly part ways with that pick, especially in a weaker class.

Paschall was productive for Golden State prior to the shutdown, so holding onto him would benefit the team.

Let’s remember, the Warriors have the Timberwolves’ 2021 first-round pick. They acquired the selection in the trade that sent Russell to Minnesota. That could be a very high pick. The Warriors have two picks in 2021, but giving up their own, which could be near the end of the first round, would be the best move for them.
