Why the Bucks Should Do It
The Bucks should consider any and all moves that would show Giannis Antetokounmpo they’re ready to win and entice him to stay.
Griffin, when healthy, is still a force to be reckoned with in the paint, and, though he’s a different player than Lopez, he would fill the void created by including Lopez in the trade.
Griffin would give the Bucks a third star (if they hold on to Middleton) and the trio could make a run in the Eastern Conference next year against the likes of Miami and Boston.
The last time Griffin was fully healthy — 2018-19 — he made his first All Star game since the 2014-15 season. Griffin was hampered by the knee injury last year, but his performance two years ago suggests he still has gas left in the tank when healthy.
