Trade Package #3

Celtics acquire Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb

Pacers acquire Kemba Walker

This trade is probably the biggest long shot of the three, so it goes last.

The Kemba Walker era in Boston has had just one year to try to mesh and lead to success. It wasn’t helped by the fact that Walker battled a knee injury, either.

But would the Celtics part with their prized free agent acquisition from a year ago?

Boston fell short of both internal and external expectations in the bubble, and if Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens feel a drastic move is necessary, this could be it.

Seeing as Boston’s window to contend is still open, Turner would face the perception of being the player acquired for Walker which could lead to heightened expectations.

Walker wouldn’t have such a bright spotlight on him in Indiana, although he’d still be expected to lead the Pacers to the playoffs.

To match salaries, Boston would also have to take on the salary of Jeremy Lamb in this hypothetical. Lamb is under contract through 2022, and Walker is under contract through 2023.
