New York Knicks Receive: No. 2 pick, Kevon Looney, 2021 first-round pick
Golden State Warriors Receive: No. 8 pick, Mitchell Robinson
A trade along these lines was posited in The Athletic recently. This deal is tweaked slightly, but let’s expound upon this deal and the fall out of it.
The Knicks move up in the draft into prime position at No. 2 in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Warriors fall back six spots but acquire Mitchell Robinson — who becomes the most notable piece of the deal for Golden State.
But in order to get Robinson out of New York, it comes at a price. The Warriors also part with Kevon Looney (one of the few pieces they’re able to trade this offseason) as well as next year’s first round pick.
