2020 NBA Mock Draft: Picks 6-10

6. Atlanta Hawks — Obi Toppin, F, Dayton

For a team that has already made no shortage of recent draft selections on the perimeter, taking a flier on Toppin makes sense. He can further bolster the Hawks’ offense — initially, as a member of the second unit. He can help Atlanta to navigate through contract extension talks with John Collins, too.

7. Detroit Pistons — Killian Hayes, G, France

There’s a lot to like about the ball handling impact that Hayes can make in the NBA. For a team like the Pistons that doesn’t has Derrick Rose as its lead creator on the perimeter, it would help to have a talent like Hayes to develop behind him.

8. New York Knicks — Tyrese Halliburton, G, Iowa State

It seems no matter how many times the Knicks try, they just can’t seem to get it right at point guard. They should look to give it another shot by taking a chance on a steady ball handler like Halliburton. He would be bring a real contrast in style between Frank Ntlikina and Dennis Smith Jr.

9. Washington Wizards — Devin Vassell, F, Florida State

Going with a wing option with the ‘3-and-D’ upside of Vassell would be a wise choice for the Wizards. That’s the type of role player they will need to surround Bradley Beal and John Wall with on the perimeter and there isn’t a player that fits this niche better in this class.

10. Phoenix Suns — Tyrell Terry, G, Stanford

It was always known that Terry was an elite shooter in this year’s draft class. However, the concern with him was his weight, but he now weighs 174 pounds. There’s no reason to overthink the process, the Suns should just take him and not think twice about it.
