2020 NBA Mock Draft: Picks 26-30
26. Boston Celtics — Desmond Bane, G/F, TCU
The lack of explosiveness and lateral quickness, short wingspan, and low release point on his jump shot are all reasons Desmond Bayne is lower here than what many may expect. There’s little reason to believe that any of those areas will change, but he can hit open shots and make plays as a passer.
27. New York Knicks — Jahmi’us Ramsey, G, Texas Tech
Taking a chance on a competitive defender with a reliable catch-and-shoot jumper is something the Knicks would be doing by selecting Jahmi’us Ramsey at this spot. His skill-set in those areas serves as a foundation, but the rest would need to be developed.
28. Los Angeles Lakers — Paul Reed, C/F, DePaul
It’s difficult to find a player who excels at doing the dirty work of shot blocking, forcing turnovers, and rebounding the ball in this draft class than Paul Reed. His type of upside could fill a helpful niche for a team and is worth taking a chance on in the late first round.
29. Toronto Raptors — Malachi Flynn, G, San Diego State
There may not be a lot of height or explosiveness that comes with Malachi Flynn, but he showed plenty of intriguing signs as a pick-and-roll ball handler. He simply understands the game at a high-level and is a sound player in every key area.
30. Boston Celtics — Killian Tillie, F/C, Gonzaga
Taking a chance on a center would be the right choice for the Celtics to wrap up the first round. There are some injury concerns associated with Killian Tillie but he has an intriguing skill-set between his jump shot, passing, and versatility on defense.
