Derrick Rose, Guard, Detroit Pistons
While the Lakers would love to add a third star alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose would still be an intriguing trade target.
After a few down years, Rose has resurrected his career over the last two seasons. In 2019-20 with the Pistons, Rose averaged 18.1 points and 5.6 assists per game. He shot 49 percent from the floor and connected on 30.6 percent of his three-point attempts.
What would make the 31-year-old Rose an intriguing addition for the Lakers? Quite simply, his ability to create shots and create for teammates would take a lot of the pressure off of James. Anything the Lakers can do to relieve pressure for “The King” would be an ideal move.
Rose may not be the MVP candidate that he once was, but he could come in and make a major impact as the starting point guard for the Lakers. With the injuries that plagued his career seemingly behind him for the most part, contending for a championship in L.A. would be fitting for Rose.
