B/R suggests a blockbuster Pacers-Rockets trade centered around Russell Westbrook

Rumors have been flying around that the Houston Rockets could look to trade superstar point guard Russell Westbrook this offseason. While that is far from a done deal, it could make some since. The Indiana Pacers are the latest team to be suggested as a potential landing spot for Westbrook.

Bleacher Report has suggested a blockbuster trade between the Pacers and Rockets that would send Westbrook to Indiana.

That trade would send Westbrook and Robert Covington to the Pacers in exchange for Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, Doug McDermott, Jeremy Lamb, and a lottery protected 2021 first-round pick. Obviously, there are a lot of moving pieces in this deal, but both the Rockets and Pacers would be adding much-needed pieces.

For the Pacers, bringing in Westbrook would finally give them the true superstar that they have lacked for years. It would also give Indiana a lethal starting lineup of Westbrook, Victor Oladipo, T.J. Warren, Covington, and Domantas Sabonis.

As for the Rockets, they would be adding a ton of talent around James Harden. Brogdon is a very good guard who can shoot or create for teammates and Turner would be the rim protector who can stretch the floor that Houston has needed. Both Lamb and McDermott would be solid role players.

Westbrook put together a massive season with the Rockets in 2019-20. He averaged 27.2 points per game to go along with 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists. Those numbers would make the Pacers a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference.

Houston could choose to keep Westbrook and Harden intact for another year. They did play well together and only came up short to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. However, moving him for a ton of ideal supporting pieces for Harden might make sense.

Expect to hear plenty of offseason rumors surrounding the Rockets and Russell Westbrook. The Pacers may not be viewed as the most likely landing spot, but they are a team to keep an eye on if Kevin Pritchard chooses to swing for the fences in a superstar trade.
