Milwaukee Bucks – Keep Doing Their Thing
It’s as simple as that. The Milwaukee Bucks have had the best offense, and the best defense in the league for a reason, they are amazing.
Giannis Antetokounmpo looks to be running his way to his second consecutive MVP, and potentially his first DPOY award as well. Khris Middleton is on the cusp of a 50/40/90 season, Brook Lopez is statistically one of the best rim protectors in the league, and it seems as if whoever touches the ball in this offense succeeds.
The Bucks are leading the NBA in points per game at 118.6, defensive rating, and net rating.
This team was dominant last year, and get a lot of discredit for the way they lost four straight to the Toronto Raptors. It definitely was a bit of a “choke job,” but don’t let that deter you from what they are accomplishing this season.
They look even better this year, and that Raptors team was very good on both ends, and rostered who I believe was, and still is the best player in the NBA.
Most teams are going to see what the Raptors did and attempt to mimic it. Which is slow down Giannis the moment he crosses half court, collapse the defense on him at the elbows, and then have a second line of help at the rim.
This is much easier said than done. For one, Giannis seems to have improved more as a playmaker, and a shooter this season. Then, you have to have a talented defensive personnel to be disciplined, and strong enough to stop the Greek Freak.
The Bucks will have to rely on Giannis’ supporting cast though, as teams will most definitely key-in on him. If the rest of the Bucks can make shots, and their “leave the 3-point line open” defense holds up, the Bucks could, and should be the favourites to win the East.
