1. The East is Very Weak

The current landscape of the Eastern Conference bodes very favorably for the Orlando Magic. They are already in the seventh spot with a whole four-game lead over the ninth spot.

If the Magic were to continue to fortify their roster, they could significantly improve their odds of locking up a playoff spot. That has value for a team that has talented young players that have limited experience on that stage.

It could do wonders for a player like Markelle Fultz, in particular, to be able to make plays in a playoff environment. He would be able to head into the playoffs knowing where to improve but with a significant morale boost to get it done.
