2. Young Doesn’t Fit Their Timeline
The problem with adding older veterans to a team trying to take the next step is that when it doesn’t work out, it makes the most sense to part ways with those pieces. That’s the situation with the Bulls and Thaddeus Young.
The young players the Bulls seem to have received more intrigue from outsiders about the idea of what they are and could become as opposed to what they are actually providing. What Chicago needs most is players worth building around.
Whether the Bulls are building around one of their young players or not, Young doesn’t align with any possible timeline. He is already 31-years-old and would be well past the point of being a contributor by the time Chicago is ready to compete.
