New Orleans Pelicans: 4 Reasons Why Anthony Davis Could Win MVP

He Has Been More Durable Lately

Really the only knock on Anthony Davis’ career thus far is the fact that he’s never played a full 82-game season. Injuries in his first four seasons kept him from even hitting the 70-game mark.

In 2016-17 and 2017-18, he played 75 games in each of the last two years. Minor injuries kept him out of seven games in each of those seasons, but we haven’t seen if he can go the entire 82 yet.

It’s easy to expect him to miss games because, well, he always has. Yet, Davis has had two straight solid seasons. He dealt with just minor injuries to his ankle and pelvis last year, forcing him to miss just seven games.

Many will still expect him to deal with injury in 2018-19 because of his history, but his games played statistic is trending upward. This season, he’ll play all 82 and it’ll help him become the Most Valuable Player.
