Indiana Pacers: 3 Questions Following the 2018 NBA Offseason

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

How Much Development Will Myles Turner Show?

Finally, Myles Turner is going to be asked to play a much bigger role this season for the Pacers. After a somewhat disappointing season in 2017-18, Turner has been attacking this offseason. He has been working out hard and has even picked up yoga to help him improve.

Last season with the Pacers, Turner averaged 12.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. He shot 47.9 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 35.7 percent of his three-point attempts.

Turner seemed to frustrate the Pacers’ coaching staff at times, although Turner didn’t look comfortable in his role. Part of that blame could fall on Nate McMillan and the other coaches. At times, he looked lost about whether to shoot the ball, especially from beyond the three-point line.

That being said, there is still plenty of superstar potential for Turner to develop into. Indiana is still very excited to see what kind of player Turner is in 2018-19. He received a lot of criticism from fans, but those same fans know just how important Turner will be to the team taking the next step.

Expect to see Turner figure things out and break out with a huge season in 2018-19. Indiana my not end up winning the conference, but they certainly are going to be entertaining to watch.
