Oklahoma City Thunder: 3 Takeaways from the 2018 NBA Offseason

Oklahoma City Will Be a Serious Threat to Golden State

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Following all of the offseason moves, the Thunder are going to be a top-notch contender in the Western Conference. Even though they struggled last season, there are quite a few reasons to think that they can compete with the Golden State Warriors.

Westbrook and George are going to be better as a duo than they were with Carmelo Anthony on the team. Add in the fact that the Thunder will have their top defender and more bench depth, and the team should be much improved. Golden State did sign DeMarcus Cousins, but the Thunder can match up with them well defensively.

It will be interesting to see how this team comes together throughout the course of the regular season. If they are able to mesh well and find chemistry, they could end up being a top-three seed in the West.

More than likely, the Warriors will end up winning yet another NBA title. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be teams who are able to push them. Golden State will have their hands full dealing with the Thunder if George and Westbrook can get the team together and figure everything out.
