Indiana Pacers: 3 Improvements Victor Oladipo Must Make in 2018-19

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Continue Improving on the Defensive End

While the Pacers were happy with the playmaking ability that Oladipo showed on the defensive end of the court, there is still work for him to do. Oladipo was able to get in the passing lanes on a consistent basis, but there are still questions about how good he can become on the ball.

There is no question that Oladipo is capable of becoming an elite on-ball defender. He has the speed and athleticism to stay in front of almost any player in the league. Add in the fact that he has quick hands and Oladipo could easily become one of the best two-way players in the game.

Indiana used to have one of the best defenders in the NBA on their roster in Paul George. Oladipo actually had better all-around numbers than George did in 2017-18.

Oladipo ended up averaging 2.4 steals per game and proved that defense is something he is priding himself on.
