The Boston Celtics were the best team in the NBA throughout the 2023-24 NBA regular season. They ran away with the best record in the league, clinching the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs with several games remaining to be played.

They are the odds-on favorites to win the NBA Championship currently and with good reason. For as long as the Celtics are in the postseason, the road to the NBA Finals will go through Boston, giving them homecourt advantage throughout.

Despite their impressive resume, there are still some people who are doubting whether or not the Celtics can get the job done in the postseason. One of those people is a former NBA star, guard Nate Robinson.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Nate Robinson, 2024 NBA Playoffs, Boston Celtics Updates

Robinson recently made an appearance on “The OGs Show” and exhibited some caution about crowning the Celtics as champions already. When speaking to former NBA players Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Robinson revealed he doesn’t trust Boston in the postseason.

“They can never get it done, I just have no faith in them,” Robinson said about the Celtics chances of winning an NBA Championship.

That is certainly a hot take from Robinson that will elicit strong responses from several people. The one player who was considered a ‘dog’ on the team for years was always Marcus Smart, but he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the three-team trade with the Washington Wizards that landed Kristaps Porzingis in Boston.

While many people will brush away those comments, Robinson does have a point. The Celtics’ core of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have not yet gotten over the hump and led the team to a championship. Until they accomplish that feat, there will be questions about whether or not they are cut out to do it.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Nate Robinson, 2024 NBA Playoffs, Boston Celtics Updates

The duo has one NBA Finals appearance, in 2022 against the Golden State Warriors, which they lost. That was back-to-back trips to the Eastern Conference Finals and the third time in four seasons they have done that.

Alas, there are some legitimate concerns about them in the postseason. They had some ugly performances down the stretch, even with their entire team available, that raised some eyebrows. Depth could also be a concern as Boston’s bench isn’t scaring any of their opponents. But, when you have arguably the best starting five in the NBA, the lack of bench production isn’t as damning.
