The 2023-24 NBA season has been a special one for New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson. He has accomplished many firsts in his career, including being named an All-Star. Along the way, he has set several franchise and NBA records.

Most recently, Brunson became only the fourth Knicks player ever to score 40+ points in back-to-back games, joining an elite group of Patrick Ewing, Bernard King and Carmelo Anthony. However, he was the first guard to accomplish the feat, as the other players were forwards and big men.

Brunson scored 45 points against the Portland Trail Blazers to kick off the Knicks’ West Coast trip before dropping 42 on the Sacramento Kings. Most importantly, New York won both games, furthering cementing their spot outside of the NBA Play-In Tournament in the Eastern Conference.

In addition to the franchise history that Brunson set against the Kings, he also made some impressive NBA history as well. His performance this season has been historic, as he reached another plateau that no one else has before him.

NBA NEWS & SCORES: Jalen Brunson & New York Knicks Updates

According to KnicksMuse on X, Brunson is the first player in NBA history to average 27+ points, 6+ assists, 40+ percent on 3-pointers and have less than 18-0 turnovers over the first 62 games of a season.

What Brunson has been able to accomplish this season has been very impressive. Without fellow NBA All-Star Julius Randle and OG Anunoby in the lineup for 18 straight games together, Brunson was tasked with putting the entire offensive load on his shoulders.

More often than not, he would respond and get the job done. He is earning his way into the star conversation, as he has taken his game to another level in New York, becoming one of the best point guards in the NBA.
