Los Angeles Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard had to leave the Crypto.com Arena prematurely during the first half of the team’s 118-100 loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves during Tuesday’s NBA action after being sidelined by sudden back spasms.

The team disclosed that Leonard was battling thoracic spasms, leading to his early departure from the game. According to ESPN, Leonard chose to go home for rest as sitting with the spasms proved to be too uncomfortable.

“The Clippers said Leonard was suffering from thoracic spasms,” Ohm Youngmisuk wrote. “A source said Leonard went home to rest because he was uncomfortable sitting with the spasms.”

Leonard’s early exit came after he managed to contribute six points in 12 minutes of play. It was revealed by the source that Leonard had been facing back issues earlier that day and attempted to play through the discomfort, unfortunately without any signs of improvement.
