New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson has taken the NBA by storm since joining the team. There were a lot of naysayers who believed the Knicks were making a mistake signing Brunson as a free agent in 2022, but he has proven all of those people wrong.

Throughout his basketball career, Brunson has been doubted by virtually everyone. Every step of the way he was told he was too small or not athletic enough to succeed. He uses that as motivation to improve his craft and has turned himself into not only one of the best basketball players in the NBA but in the world.

That level of improvement led to Brunson receiving a very special offer this past offseason. He was invited to play with Team USA at the Men’s FIBA World Cup and was named captain of the squad.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Jalen Brunson, Team USA, New York Knicks Updates

It was the first time that he was on the Men’s National Team, as his previous international experience came as a teenager. His experience back then compared to last year was vastly different, as he took home a Gold Medal in 2015. This time around, Team USA finished disappointingly in fourth place.

During the NBA All-Star Break, Brunson made an appearance on All The Smoke Podcast with former NBA players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes. His Team USA experience was one of the topics that were discussed.

During the interview, Brunson revealed that his trip was ruined once the team lost. Despite visiting some beautiful cities, once Team USA was out of the running for first place, Brunson was unable to enjoy himself. That kind of attitude is one that Jackson and Barnes believe will lead to Brunson finding the ultimate success in the NBA of winning a ring.

No one is going to work harder than Brunson when it comes to winning a championship. Based on his comments during the podcast, he has that it factor, something driving him to be great and achieve as much as possible.

He is so dedicated to his craft that he changed the date of his wedding so that he could participate in the FIBA World Cup. Many people would have taken that experience with Team USA as a vacation, a chance to see parts of the world they otherwise wouldn’t.

Brunson, however, was there with one mission; win. When that wasn’t possible, his trip was ruined, which speaks volumes about the kind of player he is and the character he possesses.
