Despite being in Year 21 of his NBA career, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to put together incredible performances on the court. On Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, he had yet another one up his sleeve.

For the majority of the game, the Lakers looked dead in the water. They trailed by as many as 21 points in the fourth quarter before James put on his cape and provided a historic performance for the purple and gold.

He led the comeback, as the Lakers outscored the Clippers 39-16 in the final stanza. It is as brutal of a loss for the Clippers as it is a remarkable win for the Lakers, as this is the kind of victory that can help define and turn around a season.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: LeBron James & Los Angeles Lakers Updates

James was incredible in the quarter, knocking down five 3-pointers en route to 19 points, as he outscored the Clippers on his own. It was a thing of beauty, willing his team to an incredible come-from-behind victory.

Without James, this comeback almost certainly doesn’t happen. Not only was he dominant in scoring the ball, he was getting his teammates involved as well. Looking to slow him down in any way possible, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue started throwing double teams at him.

The Clippers would blitz him at the top of the key to get the ball out of his hands, but it didn’t matter. His teammates stepped up and made shots off of his passes, as Cam Reddish, D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hacimura all knocked down big shots in the comeback.

Just how impressive of a performance was it by James? According to GerogeMikan on X, formerly Twitter, it was historic. James became the first player in NBA history, since play-by-play data tracking began, to finish a fourth quarter with at least 30 points responsible and a +23 plus/minus ratio.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: LeBron James & Los Angeles Lakers Updates

This was a comeback for the ages for the Lakers, who are now 32-28 on the season. They are still three games behind the New Orleans Pelicans for sixth place in the Western Conference and a spot outside of the NBA Play-In Tournament.

But, this is the kind of win that can catapult a team to start building some real positive momentum. As long as James is healthy, the Lakers can hang with any team in the NBA, as they are never out of a game as long as he is on the court.
