The marathon NBA season continued for the New York Knicks on Tuesday night. They suffered a blowout loss at home against the New Orleans Pelicans, as they lacked a scoring punch without their stars.

It was a tough night for the Knicks in the second half of a back-to-back against the Pelicans. New Orleans being a solid team is hard enough before taking into account that New York had a physical game Monday night against the Detroit Pistons and was without Jalen Brunson. It was a recipe for a disaster for the Knicks.

In the first half, the Knicks did hang in there with the Pelicans, as their defense was playing well to start the game. Unfortunately for the team, the offense struggled without Brunson, as missing an MVP-caliber player is hard to overcome.

Overall, the Knicks were only able to muster 92 points, as it was one of their worst offensive performances of the season. In the loss, the Knicks’ offense was led by Donte DiVincenzo and Bojan Bogdanovic.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Donte DiVincenzo, Bojan Bogdanovic, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks Updates

As we have seen recently when players are out, DiVincenzo is not afraid to shoot the ball. Donte totaled 23 points on 8-for-21 shooting from the field, which included him going 7-for-18 from beyond the arc.

While the loss wasn’t ideal, Bogdanovic’s performance off the bench was a bright spot for the Knicks. In the first half, Bogdanovic helped spark a slumping offense with 14 points. In a time when the Knicks desperately needed offense, Bogdanovic provided it.

Overall, Bogdanovic scored 20 points in the game, as he was the second-leading scorer for the Knicks. Unfortunately for them, there wasn’t much else to talk about on the offensive end of the court, as the team missed what Brunson brings to the table.

As the NBA season continues to move on, the injuries just never seem to stop for New York. Hopefully, Brunson’s neck issue is just a one-game thing and he will be back on the court soon.
