According to NBA insider Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors will not trade for Atlanta Hawks star Dejounte Murray.
The Hawks are widely expected to move Murray before the February 8 trade deadline. The All-Star has been linked to the Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons.
Slater, who covers the Warriors, is reporting that any interest in Murray is tepid at best for Golden State.
“Mike Dunleavy Jr. spent a chunk of time chatting with Atlanta general manager Landry Fields before a recent Hawks game,” Slater wrote. “But any interest in Dejounte Murray, the No. 1 player on The Athletic’s trade deadline big board, is tepid at best, which won’t lead to movement. He’s another guard about to step into a four-year, $114 million deal.”
