According to NBA insider Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors will not trade for Atlanta Hawks star Dejounte Murray.

The Hawks are widely expected to move Murray before the February 8 trade deadline. The All-Star has been linked to the Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons.

Slater, who covers the Warriors, is reporting that any interest in Murray is tepid at best for Golden State.

“Mike Dunleavy Jr. spent a chunk of time chatting with Atlanta general manager Landry Fields before a recent Hawks game,” Slater wrote. “But any interest in Dejounte Murray, the No. 1 player on The Athletic’s trade deadline big board, is tepid at best, which won’t lead to movement. He’s another guard about to step into a four-year, $114 million deal.”

According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Warriors have no interest in trading Klay Thompson or Draymond Green. If the Dubs make a trade this season, Chris Paul and/or Andrew Wiggins would be moved.

The Warriors are 20-24. They are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings despite Stephen Curry averaging 27.5 points. If the season ended today, Golden State wouldn’t even be in the NBA play-in tournament.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors Updates

Most NBA insiders expect the Lakers to acquire Murray since the Washington product has the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports) as LeBron James and Anthony Davis. It will be fascinating to see where Murray lands and if the Warriors make any moves.
