There have been some truly incredible performances around the NBA in recent days. More than once, it has been Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic garnering headlines with some gaudy box scores.

Last Friday, against the Atlanta Hawks, Doncic scored a career-high 73 points, the most in the NBA this season and most in Mavericks franchise history. He added 10 rebounds and seven assists in that contest.

In the following game, Doncic recorded yet another triple-double, scoring 28 points with 10 rebounds and 17 assists. What did he have in store for Monday night’s game against the Orlando Magic? Just some NBA history.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Luka Doncic & Dallas Mavericks Updates

Doncic scored 45 points with 15 assists, coming just rebound shy of a second straight triple-double as he pulled down nine. Dallas won the game 131-129 and Doncic etched his name in the NBA’s history books.

He became the first player in league history with multiple 45-point, 15-assist games. Even more impressive is that he has accomplished both this season, with the first coming just a few weeks ago.

Against the Phoenix Suns on Christmas Day, the Mavericks won 128-114. Doncic had a game for the ages, scoring 50 points to go along with 15 assists, six rebounds, three blocks and four steals.

A perennial MVP candidate, Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA. He is capable of accomplishing a rare feat every time he steps on the court with his penchant for recording triple-doubles and stuffing the stat sheet.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Luka Doncic & Dallas Mavericks Updates

Gaudy scoring and assist numbers have become the norm for Doncic. In December, he averaged 37.5 points per game to go along with 11.1 assists. In January, those numbers have dropped to 37.1 and 10.4 assists per game.

It would be hard to find anyone willing to get against him recording a third 45-15 game this season. He is a gifted scorer and playmaker, making eye-popping stat lines commonplace with his performances.
