Report: Lakers Interested In Trading For Wizards’ Tyus Jones, Jazz’s Collin Sexton

According to NBA insider Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in trading for Washington Wizards guard Tyus Jones and Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton.

Jones, 27, is averaging 12.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 52.1% from the field, 42.0% from beyond the arc and 73.1% from the free-throw line. He’s making $14 million in the final year of his contract.

Meanwhile, Sexton is averaging 16.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks while shooting 48.9% overall, 37.1% from 3 and 89.5% from the foul line. He’s making $17.3 million. The 25-year-old has the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group) as Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Jones has career averages of 7.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.1 blocks with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies and Wizards. He’s one of the best passers in the NBA and doesn’t turn the ball over that much.

Sexton, meanwhile, has career averages of 18.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.1 blocks with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz. He’s an elite competitor who impacts winning at a high level.
