Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James suffered a left knee injury against the Boston Celtics after colliding with Jaylen Brown in the second quarter.

It appeared LeBron kneed Brown in the back. Both players laid on the court for a few minutes before getting up.

“My knee is a little sore right now, and the best thing, finally, the schedule is kind of in our favor with two days before we have to play again,” LeBron said after the game. “So, just a freak play right there between me and Jaylen Brown. I’m happy I was able to walk off on my own power, but definitely a little sore right now.”

LeBron had an off game versus the Celtics. He finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and three turnovers in 36 minutes while shooting 5-of-14 from the field, 1-of-2 from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers Updates

The Lakers lost to the Celtics, dropping to 16-15 on the season. They are only 2-6 since winning the In-Season Tournament in Las Vegas.

“We got some really, really, really good looks that we just weren’t able to knock them down,” LeBron said. “They did a good job of trying to use Porzingis as a roamer and take away the paint, force us to shoot some 3s. And we got some great looks from some of our better 3-point shooters. We just weren’t able to knock them down.”

The Lakers don’t look like a title contender despite LeBron and Anthony Davis putting up great numbers this season. They are 17th in the NBA in points per game and 16th in points per game allowed.

“I don’t think we’re healthy right now,” LeBron said. “I don’t think we’re where we want to be to compete against the top teams until we continue to get better and better, continue to work our habits. And for us, we’re still trying to figure our situation out as far as how we want to continue to attack each game. But, we’ll be better.”
