Coby White led the Chicago Bulls with 22 points in a 114-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, marking the Spurs’ 21st loss in their last 22 games. The Bulls demonstrated resilience, continuing their strong performance despite the absence of NBA All-Star Zach LaVine due to foot inflammation.

French teenager Wembanyama, a standout player, had a challenging night with a season-low seven points and five rebounds, following his record-breaking eight consecutive double-doubles for a teenager in the NBA. Despite struggling in the first half and only making 3 of 8 shots, he remained optimistic about his ankle’s condition.

“My ankle is fine. I don’t feel it at all,” Wembanyama said. “There are some games like that.”

White played a pivotal role in the fourth quarter, scoring 12 points to help the Bulls widen their lead. DeMar DeRozan contributed 21 points following a 27-point performance against the Los Angeles Lakers. Patrick Williams and Nikola Vucevic also played key roles, scoring 18 and 16 points, respectively, contributing to the Bulls’ eighth win in 11 games.

The Spurs, led by Devin Vassell with 21 points, faced another defeat, continuing their challenging season. They had recently snapped an 18-game losing streak with a win over the Lakers but couldn’t maintain the momentum.

“We never gave up, we never let the life flow out of us or anything like that,” White said. “The guys in this locker room continuously believe in each other. We continuously speak positive energy into each other, and we care about each other, and we want to win. That hasn’t changed throughout the entire season.”

Despite struggling with three-point shooting earlier in the game, the Bulls found their rhythm in the fourth quarter, making 5 of 6 attempts from beyond the arc. This surge included significant contributions from White and Williams.

LaVine’s recovery from his foot injury is progressing, with increased activity expected next week. Coach Billy Donovan remains hopeful and anticipates a better understanding of LaVine’s return timeline once he begins more dynamic movements and practice sessions. Torrey Craig also mentioned being optimist that he’ll return sooner than the two-month timetable he faces with an acute sprain of his plantar fascia.

Looking ahead, the Spurs will face Dallas, while the Bulls are set to host Cleveland, with both games scheduled for Saturday night.
