Stephen Curry sent a strong message to his teammates after the Golden State Warriors lost to the Phoenix Suns.
Curry, the only player on the Warriors averaging over 20.0 points per game, said everybody on the team has to play better.
“We need everybody,” Curry said. “We need everybody to play at the level that we expect. And when it doesn’t happen, we lose. It’s pretty simple. That’s the predicament we’re in. We all have to play better together. Individually, we have to play better. And whatever you’re asked to do, whatever minutes, whatever rotation you’re in, be prepared to adapt. That’s going to be our challenge as a team.”
The Warriors are only 10-13 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings. Curry is averaging 29.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists, but he hasn’t gotten enough help from his supporting cast.
NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors Updates
“The results are what they are,” Curry said. “And you have to be realistic about that things need to change to get us where we want to be. The urgency around our team, we feel it for sure.”
Curry is shooting 46.8% from the field, 42.2% from beyond the arc and 93.6% from the free-throw line. However, the Warriors legend is averaging 3.4 turnovers. He needs to do a better job of protecting the ball moving forward if Golden State wants to snap out of its funk.
Curry and the Warriors lost to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 Western Conference Semifinals in six games. Jordan Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards for Chris Paul in the offseason and Draymond Green was signed to a new contract. The Warriors were internally confident that they would be title contenders this season.

However, despite the greatness of Curry, the Warriors haven’t even looked like a play-in team.
