After the Los Angeles Lakers won the In-Season Tournament Championship Game against the Indiana Pacers, Lakers guard Austin Reaves talked about what it’s like becoming the first team to win the In-Season Tournament.

Reaves and all of his Lakers teammates got $500,000.

“Any time you can be the first to win or do anything or win anything, it’s cool,” Reaves said. “The money is a good, extra bonus, but any time we get on the court and compete as a unit, we want to win regardless of the tournament or regular-season game. To be able to say that we won the first one is cool.”

Reaves was sensational for the Lakers versus the Pacers. He played 28 minutes off the bench and finished with 28 points and three assists while shooting 9-of-15 from the field and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Reaves played despite being under the weather. The guard wasn’t going to miss this game since there was $500,000 on the line.

The In-Season Tournament Championship Game didn’t count on the Lakers’ record or stats, so Los Angeles is still 14-9 on the season. The purple and gold are in fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

Reaves is averaging 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists on the season for the Lakers while shooting 46.7% from the floor, 33.0% from 3 and 86.3% from the foul line.
