Zach LaVine, who is open to getting traded by the Chicago Bulls, is “well aware” the Bulls tried to trade him last offseason, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

LaVine has also grown tired of the internal debate within the Bulls organization on whether he can be a lead player on a championship-contending team.

LaVine is currently out with a foot injury. The Bulls are 3-0 without the two-time All-Star in the lineup.

“First off, the storylines that are out there right now about me is on both,” LaVine said. “It’s something that wasn’t said completely verbally to the media. It’s something that is behind closed doors that a bunch of narratives can get spun around and said about me and stories will be portrayed. And that’s part of the business. I think that comes with it.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls Updates

“Am I still a part of this team and very committed? Yeah. I got a Bulls jersey on. I committed here. And for as long as I’ll be here, I’ll still support and love Chicago and go out there and play my heart out for those guys. That’s never going to change.

“There’s going to be different stories and narratives. And there’s going to be off-the-court stuff that’s going to be dealt with. For me, as long as I’m here with a Bulls jersey on, I’m going to play as hard as I can for my teammates and continue to be the best player and teammate I can be. Simple as that.”

LaVine is averaging 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists on the season while shooting 44.3% from the field, 33.6% from beyond the arc and 86.6% from the free-throw line. The Bulls are 5-13 with LaVine in the lineup.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls Updates

All signs point toward LaVine getting traded by the Bulls before the February 2024 trade deadline. Chicago is playing better without LaVine and LaVine and his camp are ready to play for a new team.
