One NBA writer is proposing that the Indiana Pacers acquire Jerami Grant from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Pacers and Blazers:
Indiana Pacers Receive: F Jerami Grant
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F Obi Toppin, G/F Buddy Hield
Grant becomes trade-eligible on January 15. He is expected to become available in trade talks before the February 2024 trade deadline, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Grant signed a five-year, $160 million contract with the Blazers this past offseason in free agency before Damian Lillard requested a trade and was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. Swartz believes Grant can help the Pacers on both ends of the floor.

“Owners of the No. 1 overall offense in the NBA (123.8), the Pacers could use some defensive help in their game against the Boston Celtics and beyond,” Swartz wrote. “Grant is the perfect two-way, veteran force this team needs, adding him to a core of Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, Bruce Brown and Ben Mathurin. The 29-year-old is averaging 22.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and shooting 41.9 percent from three. Grant also carries 35 games of playoff experience from his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets.

The Pacers could start Tyrese Haliburton, Bruce Brown, Ben Mathurin, Grant and Myles Turner if Indiana’s front office figured out a way to acquire Grant from Portland.
