A blockbuster NBA trade proposal would land the Charlotte Hornets Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen and Myles Turner.

Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World proposed that the Hornets acquire LaVine from the Chicago Bulls, Markkanen from the Utah Jazz and Turner from the Indiana Pacers:

Charlotte Hornets receive: Zach LaVine

Chicago Bulls receive: Gordon Hayward, James Bouknight, 2026 first-round pick, 2027 second-round pick, 2029 first-round pick

Charlotte Hornets receive: Lauri Markkanen

Utah Jazz receive: Terry Rozier, Nick Richards, 2028 first-round (pick swap), 2028 second-round pick

Charlotte Hornets receive: Myles Turner

Indiana Pacers receive: Mark Williams, PJ Washington, 2027 first-round (pick swap)

The Hornets would start LaMelo Ball, LaVine, Brandon Miller, Markkanen and Turner after these trades. That would be a versatile and explosive starting lineup.

LaVine is open to getting traded by the Bulls and the Hornets are interested in acquiring the two-time All-Star, according to Sam Amico of Hoops Wire. LaVine is averaging 22.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season while shooting 45.3% from the floor, 34.4% from 3 and 86.6% from the free-throw line. The UCLA product signed a five-year, $215 million contract in the offseason of 2022.

Markkanen is averaging 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 48.4% overall, 38.3% from 3 and 84.0% from the foul line. The All-Star signed a four-year, $67 million deal in August 2021.

Finally, Turner is averaging 16.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.2 blocks while shooting 51.3% from the floor, 35.8% from deep and 79.1% from the free-throw line. The center signed a two-year, $58 million extension in January.

The Hornets haven’t made the playoffs since 2016. The front office needs to surround Ball with more talent, which is why Leiva thinks Charlotte should go after LaVine, Turner and Markkanen.
