One NBA analyst believes the Chicago Bulls should target Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga.

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report thinks Kuminga is the ideal “buy-low candidate” for the Bulls.

“The 21-year-old’s growing pains are tough for a win-now team like Golden State to stomach, but Chicago should be as patient as anyone if it heads into a rebuild,” Buckley wrote. “It can afford to wait and see whether the No. 7 pick of the 2021 draft can figure things out and tap into his towering two-way potential.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jonathan Kuminga, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls Updates

Kuminga is averaging 11.9 points and 3.3 rebounds this season while shooting 43.4% from the field, 18.8% from beyond the arc and 71.7% from the free-throw line.

Zach LaVine is open to getting traded by the Bulls. If LaVine gets traded, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic would likely get moved as well. Kuminga could be part of the Bulls’ rebuild if LaVine, DeRozan and Vucevic get traded.

Kuminga has career averages of 9.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He won the 2022 championship with the Warriors over the Boston Celtics but has never fully developed into a star since he’s playing behind Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green in Golden State.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jonathan Kuminga, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls Updates

The Bulls need to rebuild since the “Big 3” of LaVine, DeRozan and Vucevic is not working. It would be interesting to see what type of numbers Kuminga would put up as a starter with a high usage rate. He could get that opportunity on the Bulls if LaVine, DeRozan and Vucevic are traded.
