One NBA writer is proposing that the Denver Nuggets acquire Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Nuggets and Bulls:
The Deal: Alex Caruso for Julian Strawther, Reggie Jackson, Vlatko Čančar and a 2030 first-round pick swap
Multiple teams are interested in trading for Caruso, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. Caruso is believed to hold a higher trade value than Zach LaVine, who is looking to get traded by the Bulls.

“But Caruso undeniably raises the short-term ceiling of this second unit, and he’s one of the best perimeter defenders in the league,” Bailey wrote. “Plus, a fairly reliable outside shot and the ability to create a bit off the dribble would make Caruso a viable replacement for Bruce Brown (who signed with the Indiana Pacers this past offseason). Being under contract through 2024-25 is a bonus too.”
Caruso is averaging 9.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks this season while shooting 58.7% from the field, 50.0% from beyond the arc and 76.0% from the free-throw line. The former Los Angeles Lakers guard is one of the best defenders in the NBA. Caruso made the All-Defensive first team last season and could make it again this season.
Caruso signed a four-year, $37 million contract with the Bulls in August 2021. He’s making $9.5 million this season.

“Coveted is a good word for him. If you want to make a trade tomorrow they could trade Alex Caruso,” one NBA exec said about Caruso during a discussion with Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports. “Half the teams in the league would be there with an offer. There’s a lot of teams monitoring that situation and they’re looking at Caruso more than anyone on that roster. Just a matter of when the Bulls are ready to make changes and ready to let him go.”
