One NBA writer is proposing that the Chicago Bulls acquire Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers, Bulls, Raptors and San Antonio Spurs:

Los Angeles Lakers receive: DeMar DeRozan, Pascal Siakam

Chicago Bulls receive: Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jakob Poeltl, 2024 first-round pick (via Raptors)

Toronto Raptors receive: Nikola Vucevic, Rui Hachimura, Malaki Branham, Blake Wesley, Siddy Cissoko

San Antonio Spurs receive: Coby White, Max Christie, 2025 first-round pick (via Lakers), 2028 second-round pick (via Bulls)

Russell and Reaves signed new NBA contracts with the Lakers this past offseason. Russell can’t be traded until December 15, while Reaves can’t be moved until January 15.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Chicago Bulls Updates

For the Lakers this season, Russell is averaging 17.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 46.7% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 78.9% from the free-throw line.

Meanwhile, Reaves is averaging 13.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists while shooting 45.1% overall, 35.7% from 3 and 81.3% from the foul line.

The Bulls could start Russell, Reaves, Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams and Poeltl if Chicago’s front office figured out a way to acquire Russell and Reaves from Los Angeles and part ways with Vucevic, DeRozan and White.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Chicago Bulls Updates

The interesting part about this trade proposal is that LaVine is staying with the Bulls. LaVine is open to getting traded by Chicago, but he’s not on the move in this unique trade idea.

Instead, DeRozan and Vucevic are traded and LaVine gets five new teammates in Russell, Reaves, Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Poeltl.
