One NBA writer is proposing that the Indiana Pacers acquire Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Pacers and Bulls:
Indiana Pacers receive: Alex Caruso
Chicago Bulls receive: Isaiah Jackson, Ben Sheppard, Jordan Nwora, a 2024 first-round pick (lottery-protected) and a 2030 first-round pick swap
Buckley proposed this trade because he believes Caruso is the Bulls’ top trade chip and that the former Los Angeles Lakers guard can help the Pacers.
Caruso is averaging 8.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks this season for the Bulls while shooting 60.8% from the field, 44.8% from beyond the arc and 73.3% from the free-throw line.

Caruso is one of the best defenders in the league. He made the All-Defensive first team last season and could make it again this season.
“His low-maintenance, high-energy game would fit anywhere, but the 2022-23 All-Defensive first-teamer would look particularly appealing in the Circle City, where the Pacers have the Association’s best offense and third-worst defense,” Buckley wrote. “Between Caruso and Myles Turner, the Pacers would have a lockdown perimeter stopper and an elite paint protector.”
Caruso signed a four-year, $37 million contract with the Bulls in August 2021. He’s making $9.5 million this season.
Caruso has career averages of 6.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.4 blocks with the Lakers and Bulls. He helped Los Angeles win the 2020 championship over the Miami Heat at the Walt Disney World bubble.
