One NBA writer is proposing that the Miami Heat acquire James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers and DeMar DeRozan from the Chicago Bulls in a massive blockbuster deal. Ishaan Bhattacharya of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Sixers, Heat and Bulls:
Chicago Bulls Receive: Duncan Robinson, Caleb Martin, P.J. Tucker, 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2029 First-Round Pick (MIA)
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, 2028 First-Round Pick Swap (MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: James Harden, DeMar DeRozan
The Heat missed out on Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday. If Pat Riley figured out a way to acquire Harden and DeRozan, Miami would have a lethal Big 4 of Harden, DeRozan, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, four of the best players in the NBA.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat Updates
Harden averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists last season. The 2017-18 MVP led the NBA in assists per game for the second time in his career. Harden, 34, has requested a trade from the Sixers and wants to get traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, but Philadelphia can trade Harden anywhere since The Beard doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.
Meanwhile, DeRozan averaged 24.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 2022-23. The USC product was 13th in the NBA in total points and 17th in points per game, once again proving that he doesn’t need to shoot or make 3-pointers to score.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat Updates
The Heat lost to the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 NBA Finals in five games. Even though Butler and Adebayo are a dynamic duo, Miami needs more firepower to win it all.
