Media day is underway for the NBA. All the star players and coaches, alongside general managers, are available for interviews. However, for the Philadelphia 76ers, it looks like there might be one star unwilling to attend. It will more than likely lead to a fine. James Harden is still looking for a way out, but the Sixers have ‘no traction’ for making a trade.
The ten-time all-star asked for a trade in June. He continues to be part of the team, however, and there doesn’t seem to be a timeline for how long this can go on.
Although Harden has expressed his interest in joining the Clippers, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported no traction on a trade being done. There is no other team interested at this point.
The Clippers have remained the team of interest for the former 2018 MVP, Harden. Despite that, the team is reluctant to give up what is proposed to be Terence Mann to make the deal happen. With that in mind, it is currently a standstill between the 76ers and Harden.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: James Harden & Philadelphia 76ers Updates
Philadelphia is in a peculiar position before the start of the season. The Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics have made trades to keep them at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The 76ers finished third last season and hope to remain near the top three this season. Unfortunately, the team is dealing with distractions with the Harden trade request. Also, it was rumored that MVP Joel Embiid could be looking elsewhere if the team does not remain in the race for a championship.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: James Harden & Philadelphia 76ers Updates
Harden averaged 21.0 points and nearly 10.7 assists a game last season. Without a trade imminent, he might have to appear for the 76ers until something can get done.
