The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks are expected to have at least some level of interest in acquiring Jrue Holiday from the Portland Trail Blazers, according to NBA insider Zach Lowe of ESPN.
The Milwaukee Bucks traded Holiday to the Blazers in the blockbuster Damian Lillard trade. Holiday, one of the best two-way players in the NBA, is not expected to remain in Portland.
Holiday appeared in 67 games for the Bucks last season. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 47.9% from the field, 38.4% from beyond the arc and 85.9% from the free-throw line. The two-time NBA All-Star signed a four-year, $135 million extension with Milwaukee in April 2021.

A California native, Holiday has career NBA averages of 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists with the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans and Bucks. He has made five All-Defensive teams and helped Milwaukee win the 2021 NBA championship over the Phoenix Suns in six games.
It’s going to be intriguing to see where Holiday is playing next season. The veteran has to be shocked that he got traded by the Bucks since he told NBA reporter Jim Owczarski of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he wanted to spend the rest of his career in Milwaukee.
“Before I even won here I think I said I’m a Buck for life and I mean that like deep in my heart,” Holiday said. “I don’t want to play for any other team. I think we have a chance to continue to do great things as the Bucks team and organization so I want to be in Milwaukee.”
