One NBA writer is proposing that the Minnesota Timberwolves trade for New York Knicks stars Julius Randle, Josh Hart and Immanuel Quickley in a blockbuster deal. Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Timberwolves, Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors:
Los Angeles Clippers Receive: Andrew Wiggins, Evan Fournier
Golden State Warriors Receive: Paul George
New York Knicks Receive: Karl-Anthony Towns, Kyle Anderson, Moses Moody, 2028 Clippers First-Round Pick
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: Julius Randle, Josh Hart, Gary Payton II, Immanuel Quickley, Knicks 2024 First-Round Pick, Knicks 2026 First-Round Pick

Randle averaged 25.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists last season while shooting 45.9% from the field, 34.3% from beyond the arc and 75.7% from the free-throw line. The two-time NBA All-Star signed a four-year, $117.1 million extension with the Knicks in August 2021. Randle will make $25.6 million next season and $27.6 million in 2024-25.
New York acquired Hart from the Portland Trail Blazers on February 9, 2023. The 28-year-old averaged 10.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 25 games with the Knicks last season while shooting 58.6% from the field, 51.9% from beyond the arc and 78.9% from the free-throw line. Hart signed a $81 million extension with New York this offseason.
Finally, Quickley appeared in 81 games for the Knicks in 2022-23. He averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 44.8% from the floor, 37.0% from 3 and 81.9% from the free-throw line. If Quickley doesn’t sign a rookie-scale extension by October 24, he will become a restricted NBA free agent next offseason.

The Timberwolves could start Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Hart, Randle and Rudy Gobert and bring Quickley off the bench as the team’s Sixth Man if Minnesota’s front office decided to trade Towns to New York for Randle, Hart and Quickley.
