One NBA writer has named Damian Lillard, Tyler Herro and OG Anunoby as the Utah Jazz’s top trade targets. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report believes the Jazz should try to trade for Lillard, Herro or Anunoby.
“The Jazz landed so many picks in the Mitchell and Gobert trades that they could build an offer for Dame around draft considerations while barely denting the collection,” Buckley wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “Salt Lake City obviously isn’t his first choice for a post-Portland home, but he did attend college in Utah (Weber State) and should see the merits of joining a team with the Jazz’s combination of in-house talent and trade flexibility.
“If Utah isn’t quite ready for that much win-now pressure, it could still help facilitate a Lillard trade as the third team that routes picks to Portland to add Herro. It isn’t often you can maybe get a discount on a 6’5″, 23-year-old who has: averaged 20 points in consecutive seasons, showed promise as a live-dribble passer and made big shots in the Finals. Or the Jazz could bully their way into the Anunoby sweepstakes and offer more picks than the Raptors could refuse.”

Lillard averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists for the Portland Trail Blazers last season while shooting 46.3% from the field, 37.1% from beyond the arc and 91.4% from the free-throw line. The seven-time NBA All-Star has requested a trade to the Miami Heat, but the Blazers and Heat haven’t made any progress on a trade. Portland can trade Lillard anywhere since the superstar point guard doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.
Herro averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Heat last season while shooting 43.9% from the floor, 37.8% from 3 and 93.4% from the foul line. The 23-year-old expects to be traded if the Heat acquire Lillard, sources told NBA Analysis Network.
Finally, Anunoby averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists for the Raptors last season. The NBA champion shot 47.6% overall, 38.7% from 3-point range and 83.8% from the free-throw line.

The Jazz went 37-45 last season. They missed the playoffs after trading Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2022. Utah’s core is currently made up of Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler and Ochai Agbaji.
