One NBA writer is proposing that the Philadelphia 76ers acquire Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green from the Golden State Warriors in a blockbuster trade. Lee Tran of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Warriors and Sixers:
Golden State Warriors Receive: Joel Embiid
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, 2027 First-Round Pick (GSW), 2024 First-Round Pick Swap (Favoring PHI)
“This package from the Golden State Warriors heading to the 76ers would feature veterans, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green, alongside Jonathan Kuminga and draft compensation,” Tran wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “Jonathan Kuminga is a fantastic prospect, and he has shown flashes of greatness when driving to the rim. Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green could be kept on the team if they decide to compete or rerouted if they are trying to rebuild. Overall, this is a solid package from a value standpoint.”

If the Sixers and Warriors completed this trade, Philadelphia’s new core would consist of Wiggins, Green, Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey. That foursome could potentially do damage together under new head coach Nick Nurse.
Wiggins averaged 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Warriors last season, while Green put up 8.5 points, 7.2 boards and 6.8 assists per game. Many people around the NBA believe Embiid will request a trade from the Sixers “sooner rather than later,” according to NBA insider Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, so it’s possible the Sixers and Warriors could do business together if Embiid asks out of Philadelphia.
Embiid, who signed a four-year, $210 million contract extension in 2021, wants James Harden to stay with the Sixers, but Harden intends to “never wear” a Philadelphia uniform again, sources told NBA Analysis Network.

Embiid is not expected to request a trade from the Sixers this summer, but he could next offseason depending on how the Harden trade request plays out and how many games Philadelphia wins in 2023-24.
