Trust NBA general managers at your own risk. They are notoriously dishonest. We don’t blame them. A general manager in the NBA gains a competitive advantage by concealing their intentions.
With that said, do not listen to Daryl Morey of the Philadelphia 76ers. He’ll tell you that he’s not trading James Harden. Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris are off the table as well.
Right. We’ll believe it when we see it. Morey isn’t known to make bad trades, but he’ll capitalize on opportunities. Here’s one that sees him trading Tobias Harris to the Orlando Magic.
The Trade Proposal
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F/C Jonathan Isaac, G/F Gary Harris
Orlando Magic Receive: F Tobias Harris
Of course, when it comes to centrifuge, the Orlando Magic know a thing or two as well. Let’s go back to the 2022 NBA Draft. The Magic were going to select Jabari Smith Jr. Vegas knew it, insiders knew it, and the whole NBA-watching world knew it.
Besides, of course, the Orlando Magic. With that said, perhaps they always knew what they were going to do. The Magic selected Paolo Banchero.

Why did they mislead us? It’s hard to say. The Magic had the number one pick, so nobody was going to steal their guy. Perhaps they simply recognized the benefit of controlling information. Is Morey telling the truth when he says he won’t move Harris?
Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal
For the Sixers, this trade could go a number of ways. Most of them are contingent on Isaac. Could he make a comeback? If so, the Sixers should win this trade by a landslide. When healthy, Isaac is one of the best defensive players in the NBA.
Of course, he’s seldom healthy. With that said, even if Isaac can’t get on the floor, this could be a net-neutral trade for the Sixers. They’re moving the best player in the deal to shore up their depth with two solid rotation pieces.

So, this depends on Morey’s appetite for risk. If he’s willing to invest in Isaac, this deal should appeal to the Sixers. Should the Magic make it?
Why The Orlando Magic Do The Deal
Meanwhile, the Magic need spacing. Badly. This team has plenty of size. They’ve got plenty of playmaking. Orlando already had Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Now, they’ve added Anthony Black to the mix.
That’s fine. All of those players have plus positional size, and they can make plays for themselves and others. Still, of that group, only Wagner is an even marginally positive shooter.

Why not add one of the best shooting forwards in the NBA? Meanwhile, Harris spent a long time in Orlando to begin his NBA career. His familiarity with the organization would be a benefit. If Morey is willing to deal him, that is.
