The Los Angeles Clippers don’t want to trade Terance Mann to acquire James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers, according to NBA insider Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.
Harden has requested a trade from the Sixers and wants to get traded to the Clippers. The 2017-18 MVP was born and raised in Los Angeles and is friends with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Russell Westbrook.
“There is no market for Harden,” Mannix wrote. “If there were, he would be gone already, either via free agency (again, Harden opted in) or trade. For weeks Sixers officials have been canvassing the NBA for a satisfactory offer. It isn’t there. The Clippers, Harden’s preferred destination, are interested. But not, it seems, at the cost of Terance Mann and what’s left of their first-round draft capital.”
The Clippers are interested in trading for Harden, but they may not have what it takes to acquire the 10-time All-Star, especially if they don’t plan to include Mann. Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey’s asking price for Harden is exorbitant, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Morey is believed to be asking for a lot for Harden because he feels comfortable with the idea of “The Beard” returning to the team next season.

After Harden learned about the Sixers’ plans to not give him a max contract, he opted into his player option and requested a trade. The future Hall of Famer believes he should be compensated reasonably after averaging 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists last season.
Harden is extremely upset at the way in which Philly handled his possible free agency and has made his dissatisfaction clear to the franchise. There was initially strong optimism on Harden’s side that he would be traded to the Clippers since both Leonard and George are said to be on board with the idea of Harden potentially joining them in Los Angeles.

However, the Sixers and Clippers haven’t many any progress on a Harden trade.
Harden intends to “never wear” a Sixers uniform again, sources told NBA Analysis Network. The Sixers, though, are comfortable taking their time with Harden’s trade request.
