One NBA writer believes the New York Knicks should acquire Bojan Bogdanovic from the Detroit Pistons. Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed that the Knicks trade Evan Fournier and a 2024 first-round pick to the Pistons for Bogdanovic.
“Swapping Fournier for Bogdanović is a massive upgrade, as the former wasn’t even part of the Knicks’ postseason rotation,” Swartz wrote. “Bogdanović, meanwhile, is coming off the best season of his career by averaging 21.6 points on 41.1 percent shooting from three with the Pistons.
“The Knicks could use Bogdanović in a number of ways. Adding him to a starting lineup with Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson gives everyone more breathing room. The 6’7″ forward can also play backup 4 in smaller lineups, especially with Obi Toppin now dealt to the Indiana Pacers.”
Bogdanovic is one of the top shooters in the NBA. The veteran swingman averaged 21.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season while shooting 48.8% from the field, 41.1% from beyond the arc and 88.4% from the free-throw line.
NBA TRADES, NEWS & RUMORS: Bojan Bogdanovic, Detroit Pistons & New York Knicks Updates
The going price multiple teams have found from the Pistons for Bogdanovic is one first and multiple seconds, which is too steep for any suitor so far, according to Matt Moore of The Action Network.
Detroit can always start next season with Bogdanovic on the roster and move him before or at the 2024 trade deadline. There could be a desperate playoff team in need of shooting who will give the Pistons want they want for Bogdanovic, who has career averages of 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists with the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Utah Jazz and Pistons.
