The New York Knicks would consider an extension for Immanuel Quickley around $20 million per year, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Quickley is eligible to sign a rookie-scale extension this summer. He would become a restricted free agent next offseason if the Knicks didn’t sign him to an extension.

Scotto is reporting that New York could trade Quickley as part of a package to acquire a star player if the guard plays himself into a higher average annual salary of $20 million.

“The Knicks would consider an extension for Quickley around $20 million per year, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote. “Should Quickley play himself into a higher average annual salary, the Knicks may consider trading him as part of a package to acquire a star player.”

Quickley appeared in 81 games for the Knicks last season. He averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field, 37.0% from beyond the arc and 81.9% from the free-throw line. The Knicks won 47 games in the regular season and were the fifth seed in the 2023 Eastern Conference playoffs.
