Either you are taking a step forward, or you are taking a step backward when you take a step forward. As long as you have a direction in mind, you should be fine. It is the same for NBA teams as well.

There is a need for direction for them. It is likely that they will end up in a rut if they do not do this, just like everyone else. As of right now, the Chicago Bulls seem to be stuck in a rut.

They need to be guided in the right direction. There is no doubt that the best course of action that they could take would be to take a step backward. 

On the other hand, the Sacramento Kings are ready to take the next step forward. It was a pleasant surprise for this team to be able to advance to the playoffs this season.

Hopefully, they will be able to win a series or two next year, as well. It may require them to continue to be aggressive in adding talent to their roster.
