Malik Beasley is leaving the Los Angeles Lakers for the Milwaukee Bucks, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Beasley is signing a one-year, $2.7 million deal with the Bucks.

Beasley played for the Utah Jazz and Lakers last season. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 39.5% from the field, 35.7% from beyond the arc and 76.9% from the free-throw line.

The 26-year-old Beasley averaged 11.1 points in 26 regular-season games with the Lakers while shooting 39.2% overall and 35.3% from 3. The Florida State product put up only 3.0 points per game in the 2023 playoffs in 11 appearances before getting removed from the rotation.

The Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round and the Golden State Warriors in the second round before getting swept by the Denver Nuggets in the conference finals.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Malik Beasley, Milwaukee Bucks & Los Angeles Lakers Updates

Beasley has career averages of 10.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists with the Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Jazz and Lakers. It will be fascinating to see how he plays with the Bucks, who lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in five games.

The Bucks hired Adrian Griffin as their new head coach after firing Mike Budenholzer. Khris Middleton, who signed a new contract with Milwaukee, and Giannis Antetokounmpo met with Griffin during the interview process. Antetokounmpo loves playing with Middleton and Brook Lopez — who re-signed with the Bucks — so it made sense for Milwaukee to keep Giannis happy by re-signing his pals.

It will be intriguing to see how the Bucks do next season with a first-year head coach. Next year is a big one for the team since Milwaukee has struggled in the postseason the last two years after winning the championship in 2021 over the Phoenix Suns in six games.
